What is Botox® and Dysport®?

Botox® and Dysport® are neuromodulators that act on muscles by blocking the nerve signaling that is used for muscle contraction. Without these signals, the muscles cannot contract (or move). This can help fine lines and wrinkles to diminish or become less noticeable. 

This treatment is preventative. Once “static” lines develop (lines that are visible when the face is relaxed) it can be much harder to get rid of them. It usually requires a higher dose of tox and laser/chemical/microneedling treatments in addition, to get rid of them completely. Getting botox earlier will save your money and your wrinkles!

AFTERCARE

Please be sure to follow proper aftercare to ensure treatment is effective and you do not have any adverse side effects.

  • Full results are not seen until two weeks after injections. You will start to notice a change in three-five days and you will gradually lose more muscle strength post-injections. Please wait the full 14 days post-injections to assess your final results.
  • Botox® and Dysport® injections are temporary and last three-four months in most people. You must have follow up appointments every three-four months to keep the effects.
  • No alcohol or strenuous activity for 24-hours.
  • Stay upright for four hours post-treatment.
  • No blood thinning medications.
  • No rubbing or massaging.
